Peachy Gang was born in Bondi Beach during peak summer; my daughter was only a few months old and I was looking for some swimmers for her that were cute, comfy and actually made to last. We were gifted a few and passed down some others and while some of them were cute, they just weren’t us.
Most were covered in prints that didn’t feel like our style, or the fabric would stretch out after a couple of wears. Some didn’t even have proper sun protection. I found myself wishing I could just make my own; so one day, I started sketching the swimmers I really wanted to dress her in.
Here are the very first sketches:
After spending more time at the beach and seeing what other kids were wearing, I realised there was a real gap. Nothing out there felt like the mix of style, quality and sun safety I was looking for. So I decided it was worth figuring out a way to make them myself.
I went full detective mode. I used my background in personal shopping and recruitment to track down someone who could help bring the idea to life. I eventually found a swimwear production expert in Sydney who had worked with a brand I trusted, and we got to work. Together, we found the right factories, fabrics and details to create something I was proud of.
And that’s how Peachy Gang came to life.
The name Peachy Gang is an ode to my daughter, whose middle name is Peach. What started as a bit of a project during parental leave has become something so much bigger.
Every piece is designed here in Australia with real kids and real beach days in mind. We’ve put so much thought into the fit and feel of each style; they’re made to move in, play in and actually last. We’ve chosen buttery soft fabrics that are gentle on little ones’ skin, and where we can, we’ve used recycled materials that are better for the planet. All of our kids swimwear offers built-in UPF 50+ sun protection too, because keeping them safe in the sun should never be an afterthought.
Peachy Gang is completely self funded, so our first collection is small, but in our humble opinion, perfectly formed. It’s a curated drop of Australian-designed girls swimwear that blends comfort, style and sun safety.
This really is just the beginning. We believe there’s room to reimagine kids' swimwear, and we’re already working on what’s next.
Our first boys collection and new girls pieces are in the works and will be landing before the end of the year.
